World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought being observed today

Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Prakash Javadekar has said that India is on track to achieve the target of land degradation neutrality set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Today is World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought. United Nations has said that this day is a unique moment to remind everyone that land degradation neutrality is achievable through problem-solving, strong community involvement and co-operation at all levels.

Mr. Javadekar said India will restore 26 million hectares of degraded land by 2030.
