Even as it is not yet clear as to who would form the next government in Karnataka, the newly elected Karnataka BJP legislators on Wednesday formally elected B.S. Yeddyurappa as the legislative party leader.
This even as the H D Kumaraswamy was also elected as the JD(S)’ legislature party leader during the party’s meeting.
It need be mentioned that Congress moved in swiftly to offer support to the JDS to form government even as the BJP emerged as the single largest party.
The Karnataka results threw a hung assembly after all with the BJP as single largest party.
However, both the sides – the BJP and the Congress-JD(S) combine – have staked their claims to form the government.
Now the ball is firmly the court of Governor.>
