The mystery over the fate of 15 miners trapped in Meghalaya mine located in East Jaintia hills continues.
Now, more than a month later of the rescue efforts, the Indian Navy diving team found the second body of a miner 280 feet inside the manhole.
It need be recalled that on Thursday itself, the Indian Navy had retrieved first body from mine.
The body recovered on Thursday was identified as that of Amir Hussain, who belonged to Assam’s Chirang district, officials said.
So far, at least 12 workers are still believed to be trapped inside the illegal coal mine.
Meanwhile, East Jaintia Hills deputy commissioner Federick Dopth confirmed that Amir Hussain’s body was identified by his wife and mother.
