The victim is a man in his twenties and is said to have allegedly committed suicide in Navi Mumbai.
The Maratha community demanding reservations has become a major issue for the state polity.
The suicides have earlier too been linked to aggrieved individuals taking the extreme step out of disappointment.
The latest instance is of Arun Jagannath Bhadale, a resident of the Turbhe area, who is said to have ended his life by hanging himself from the ceiling of the balcony of his house, police said.
According to another police official, his purported suicide note said he had applied to a private finance company for personal loan and deposited Rs. 27,000 as demanded but he was cheated by the company.
The government should feel shame for failing to understand the community’s sentiments, the note added as per police official.>
