The world has embraced Yoga in a way, never seen before in history. It’s a Journey from ‘me’ to ‘us’. It unifies the whole world.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said yoga has become one of the biggest mass movements in the quest for good health and wellbeing.
He was paeticipating in the fourth International Yoga Day program in Dehradoon, Uttarakhand. The program was attended by more than 50,000 enthusiasts at the picturesque Forest Research Institute.
Modi said in his signature style that from Dehradun to Dublin, from Shanghai to Chicago, from Jakarta to Johannesburg, it is everywhere. This could be seen in the way, International Day of yoga is celebrated every year.
Modi said, “The world has embraced it. The way to lead a calm, creative and contented life was the main aim of it. ‘In this system, we have the perfect solution to the problems we face, either as individuals or in our society. Instead of dividing, yoga unites. Instead of further animosity, it assimilates. Instead of increasing suffering, it heals. In today’s fast changing times, it binds together a person’s body, brain and soul, hence giving one the feeling of peace,’ he said.
The Prime Minister participated in the celebrations at Rajpath in New Delhi in 2015, the Capitol Complex in Chandigarh in 2016 and at the Ramabai Ambedkar Sabha Sthal in Lucknow in 2017.
Modi said yoga presents a ray of hope for future of the world. “It is beautiful because it is ancient yet modern, it is constant yet evolving. It is one of the most precious gift from the ancient Indian sages to mankind.’ he said.>
