Young Indians Raipur launch crucial “Rally for Rivers” Campaign

CII Young Indians Raipur Chapter today supported the awareness campaign for “Rally for Rivers”

CII Young Indians Raipur Chapter today supported the awareness campaign for “Rally for Rivers” and “Don’t Drink and Drive” for promoting the cause on 24 September 2017 at Marine Drive, Telibandha, Raipur, Chhattisgarh.

“Rally for Rivers” is a mass awareness campaign launched by Shri Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev was recently inaugurated on 3rd September in Coimbatore. The campaign will move over 60 cities across India where Raipur became yet one more location for supporting the cause. Young Indians Raipur Chapter today supported the Campaign by organizing an awareness campaign along with Yuva Chaupal ITM University, Kalinga University and RITEE College to create awareness amongst the citizens of Raipur. Everyone who consumes water has a stake in this campaign.

Raipur Chapter yet another awareness  campaign called Don’t Drink and Drive which targets those who still think it’s okay to have ‘a couple’ of drinks before driving. The campaign provided a positive reason to not drink that second drink if you’re driving – because something even better is happening tomorrow. A second drink doubles your chances of being in a fatal collision and missing out on all of it.

Shri Pramod Dubey Ji, Mayor, Raipur Municipal Corporation today supported the event with his presence and said that the initiative of Rally for Rivers is addressing the concerning cause for our dying rivers, he urged that citizens of the Raipur to support the Campaign started by Isha Foundation and also urged citizens of Raipur to plant trees for water conservation. Shri Pramod Dubey ji also added that the accidents caused by Drunk Driving are a serious issue and Citizens of Raipur should be careful before taking the driving seat

Mr Ramesh Agrawal, Chairman CII Chhattisgarh appreciated the unique initiative taken up by Young Indians for Rally for Rivers and Don’t Drink and Drive Campaign. CII Chairman said that No person should suffer the tragedy of losing someone as a result of drunk, drugged, or distracted driving, but for far too long the danger of impaired driving has robbed people of the comfort of knowing that when they or a loved one leaves home they will return safely.

Mr Jugal Madnani, Chair Yi Raipur Chapter said that, As you are aware, Indian rivers, the lifelines of our civilization, are at a dangerous level of depletion. With many of the minor rivers having vanished and major perennial rivers turning seasonal, this dire situation for a nation with a population of over a billion, can no longer be ignored. If we do not act soon, studies say that within 15 years, we will have only 50% of the water we need for our basic survival.

He also asked all the citizens of Raipur who consumes water has a stake in this campaign. One simple thing you can do is pledge to save our rivers by giving a missed call to 80009 80009. Each missed call will count towards a public movement that will urge the government for a positive River Policy. He also urged about the campaign for Don’t Drink and Drive to join us in making this a milestone event and to spread the word to more and more people everywhere .The campaign Don’t Drink and Drive will give a positive message to the community by reaching your voice to the youth and about the fatal hazards of Don’t Drink and Drive campaign.
