Student leaders and union members from different universities will gather in the national capital to participate in a youth march starting from the Red Fort to Parliament Street today, on February 7, 2019.
The aim of the march is to demand the government for increased educational and employment opportunities.
Some of the raised demands by the student leaders through the march are:
Filling up of all government vacancies
Creation of more government jobs
Stopping the policy of fund cuts and seat cuts
Spending 10 per-cent of the country’s GDP on education.
Various leaders from different opposition parties are expected to gather for the youth march in the Parliament Street.
Students of Jamia Millia Islamia have said that they will not take any part in the march because it does not include any demands to trace Najeeb Ahmed, the JNU student who went missing in October 2016.
